Back on Critterhill
Honey bee has been gone for a week and it's been quiet. Within a week, I found a bug in the house. We miss HB, but now she has new friends and family. Specifically, three cat friends (maybe not so much Bobbles), two very excited little girls, Rhiannon and Genevieve, Alex and Alexis, and other chicken friends and hamsters and hermit crabs...

In the end...

In the end of this cat story, Honeybee and our time together is almost ending. Jason will take HB in temporarily. And if she's good and sweet as she is when she was with us, she will have a permenant home.
We have a hand scale and measured her yesterday. She is now between 10-11lbs!!! That's 150% of the cat that she arrived in.
Good luck with your new home!!!
As for me and Dave... After Honeybee leaves, we will get a few new furnitures including a couch. No more cat allergies!!!

Like a dreamcatcher, HB is my bugcatcher
As you remembered, one of the things I hoped the cat would do was to catch city bugs which I hate. Since HB came into the house, I haven't seen many bugs. A few in the past few months and most of which is on the second floor, out of the cat's reach.
A couple of days ago, I saw one of those horrible bugs with infinite legs on the wall above our 12 inch Christmas Tree. I was afraid... VERY AFRAID. Dave wasn't home from work yet to save my day. This is my usual response to bugs... "DAVE!!!! Can you get the bug on the wall *pointing nervously at the bug, while turning my head away from it*" The next best thing was to have the cat do the dirty work. I picked up HB and lifted her to the height of the bug and pushed her face as close to the bug as possible to get her attention or smell it (?? I don't know if cats can smell bugs) After a couple of seconds, the bug got her attention and her eyes are fixated on the bug. EXCELLENT!!! (My plan is working) Then I placed HB on the floor and removed the Christmas tree from the radiator shelf so she can start doing her thing. She immediately jumped onto the shelf and attacked the bug. I missed the next few seconds of what happened while I went to get the camera. I saw her carrying the bug in her mouth and jumped on the floor. She set the bug down and batted around with it... I think it was dead before it came down onto the floor. Poor BUG.
Mission accomplished.
I have occasionally watched HB bat around bugs, but she's not careful with her razor-sharp nails and kill the bugs before it had a chance to "play".

Where are the pics?
Sorry everyone. I've been lazy with the camera and I lost the USB cable to the camera so it is taking me a lot more motivation to take pics of the cat. I promise to get some pics up soon.
It has been four months since HB been with us. We might have found her a home. We are letting our friend Jason Siep take her out for a test-drive. I guess it will depend on how his cat reacts with HB. Last week, I took HB to a cat date with my friend Cathy's cats. She has two male cats name Sebatian and River. HB wasn't afraid when she arrived at Cathy's apartment. She roamed around and played with their toys. They were much bigger cats than she is but they both hid from her... They had a few hissing fests, but no cat-on-cat contact. I would say their date went well. Cathy gave HB a refillable catnip toy in a shape of a moose with a Christmas hat on it. She loves it!!! Thanks for the Christmas gift.
Recently, Dave was making veal and a few onions. The whole house filled with burning-oniony scent. Honey Bee's eyes became watery and red, and she was squinting... It was rather cute... She wasn't the only one with squinty eyes... all our eyes were watery too.

Fat Cat
Honey Bee appears to be putting on the weight nicely. At this rate, she will be a fat cat very soon. Every time I look over, her tummy is round and full of food. From now on, I will only give her what's recommended. Half a cup per day. Today, she will finish her first bag of food. Congratulations. Let's hope she doesn't become obese. I'm sure we all know that gaining weight is much easier than losing weight.
